On Saturday, August 12th, the Konstanz Seenachtfest will take place again. As every year, traffic restrictions are to be expected again. You can find out exactly what closures to expect here.
Konstanz Lake Night Festival: Where can you go when not?
The event area of the Konstanz Seenachtfest stretches along the harbor area: from Seestrasse, through Stadtgarten and Hafenstrasse to the Klein Venice festival site. Driving through and parking by car is of course prohibited in these areas.
The organizers of the Seenachtfest also ask for your understanding that access to the Hafenstrasse and Seestrasse shore areas as well as to the Stadtgarten and Little Venice will no longer be possible from Friday, August 12 at 12 p.m. That is when the preparations for the Seenachtfest begin.
Of course, access to the ships of the Bodensee-Schiffs-Betriebe (BSB) and to SeaLife is still free. If you already have a ticket for the ship or SeaLife, simply show it and you can go through. Without a ticket, a deposit of 25 euros per person is due, which you get back after purchasing the ship ticket or after visiting SeaLife.
Although there is currently no further information on possible closures, drivers should be prepared for a tense traffic situation. Last year, for example, there was also a traffic shutdown that lasted until about two hours after the end of the fireworks. If the city decides to take such a measure again, no vehicles may be moved in certain areas of Constance because there are too many pedestrians on the road. The only exception to this are emergency vehicles.
Lake Constance Festival: What’s the best way to get there?
Since traffic will be very limited, the organizers recommend arriving by BSB ferries, public transport or bicycle. If you are arriving by car, you are asked to carpool, as there are only limited parking spaces.
According to information from the organizers, parking is hardly possible in the center of Konstanz and around the event site. Visitors should therefore use the parking spaces at Lake Constance Forum. From there there is a shuttle bus to the event site.
