Korean men’s volleyball won its first win at the Hangzhou Asian Games and barely advanced to the round of 12.

The national team, ranked 27th in the world, defeated Cambodia with a set score of 3-0 in the second match of the Group C preliminary round held at the Linping Sports Center in Hangzhou, China.

As a result, the national team recorded 1 win and 1 loss in the group stage and advanced to the round of 12 in second place in the group.

The national team lost first place in the group to India, ranked 73rd in the world, with a set score of 3-2 in the first match the previous day.

The opponent in the round of 12 to be held on the 22nd is Pakistan, ranked 51st in the world and ranked first in Group D.

National team coach Lim Do-heon entrusted the leading setter Han to lead the court, and placed middle blockers Kim Min-jae and Kim Gyu-min in the center.

Libero was played by Park Kyung-min.

In attack, opposition spiker Heo Soo-bong and outside hitter Na Kyung-bok started as yesterday (20th), and Jeong Ji-seok, who was absent the day before due to back pain, stepped on the court and added firepower.

Against Cambodia, which was considered to be at an amateur level, the national team had a rough start in the game.

Even though their average heights are similar, they gave up 4 blocking points and made 11 attack errors in the first set alone, giving up a 10-point lead and putting themselves in a difficult situation.

Afterwards, the score continued to be tied, and at 23 to 23, Kim Min-jae’s quick attack and Na Kyung-bok’s push attack allowed them to take the first set.

The national team seemed to have warmed up from the second set and played more easily, winning the remaining two sets.
