The prosecutor of District IV Shift 4, Liliana Copello, ordered the arrest and charged an agent of the Córdoba Police, accused of killing an alleged thief in the city of La Calera, reported the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF).

The judicial official ordered the indictment of a member of the Córdoba Police, 45 years old, who was off duty for the alleged crime of “homicide aggravated by the use of a firearm”.
“This following the death of a man who allegedly struggled with the police officer and was shot after a chase,” the MPF said in a statement.
An emergency service confirmed the death of the alleged thief, aged 31, who, according to police sources, had a criminal record.

The incident occurred in the last few hours at the uniformed officer’s home at 100 Los Pinos Street in the Cuesta Colorada neighborhood of the city located about 42 kilometers from the capital of Córdoba.
According to the MPF, everything happened “as a result of the alleged theft of a gas container (bottle) of which the police officer would have been a victim” in the aforementioned town.
“The Prosecutor’s Office is working on the investigation to determine responsibilities,” the official agency indicated.
During the operation, elements linked to the case were seized. The police officer was taken to the Bouwer prison, where he remains lodged.
