Lara Fabian was a guest on the show C to youon France 5, this Tuesday, November 22, to promote his book All. A book in which she delivers her best recipes, reveals unpublished photos and returns without filter on her private life.
She mentions in particular that day in 1988, when she was “desperate on returning from Dublin (Editor’s note: place where the Eurovision Song Contest took place that year). “I had fallen in love with the wrong person, in the wrong place. A married man who had children”, she remembered on the set of the show when Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine asked her about the subject. A story that turned out to be “the beginning of a great series of this order”, as she explained.
In fact, she subsequently had a relationship with Rick Allison in the early 90s, but there too things went wrong. This rupture notably inspired her for her famous title “Tout”. Then she met a “young Corsican artist“, was “about to engage in a musical that everyone is talking about“. We then understand that she is talking about Patrick Fiori who was about to participate in the musical Notre-Dame de Paris. “I feel like my heart is breathing.” this is how she describes in her book their meeting in a “wonderful little restaurant”: The Market Table”.
But once again this relationship will end in a “tragic” failure. “During a program produced by one of the pundits of French TV which celebrates the end of the year of this new era (note: the year 2000), there is a last attempt to repair the broken pots. In vain. This results in a public scandal,” she confides in her book, even adding that the evening “turned into a horror movie”.
She then explains that she had “the heart in lint” and left for Canada. “The appetite will leave me for a long time“, she adds. In 2006, she will meet Gérard Pullicino from whom she will also separate but who will nevertheless give her a child, her daughter Lou. Finally, Lara Fabian managed to find happiness in the arms of Gabriel Di Giorgio , to whom she has been married since the summer of 2013.
