AK Lower Austria President Markus Wieser: “Skilled work and qualifications are more in demand than ever and are actively shaping change.”

St. Pölten (OTS) – The AK Lower Austria welcomed more than 150 apprentice trainers from all over Lower Austria to its apprentice training day at the Welser company today – that’s a record number. AK Lower Austria President and ÖGB Lower Austria Chairman Markus Wieser emphasized the central importance of teaching in the labor market and emphasized how the AK actively helps shape the technology-related changes in apprenticeship professions.

Today, more apprentice trainers than ever wanted to find out about the latest developments in vocational training for young people. 150 came to Gresten for the apprentice training day of the AK Niederösterreich – there was simply no room for more at the venue, the Welser company.

In his welcome address, AK Lower Austria President and ÖGB Lower Austria Chairman Markus Wieser emphasized the central importance of teaching for the labor market and economy. Skilled work and qualifications are more in demand than ever. At the same time, apprenticeships in particular are subject to dynamic change. He cited electrical engineering as an example. The apprentices there now work with highly complex control technology and microelectronics.

The AK is actively shaping these developments, said Wieser and referred to the Sigmundsherberg climate training center, the first such facility in Europe. On behalf of the AMS, the BFI Lower Austria provides the highest quality training. There is also collaboration between manufacturers of climate technologies, energy suppliers, scientists and professional associations: “This brings new ideas, further development and groundbreaking standards for the future,” said Wieser.
