Last year’s BMW M best-selling car was the ‘i4 M50’ electric vehicle’s rebellion.

The best-selling car in the BMW M Division, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022, was a pure electric vehicle. The BMW i4 M50 is the main character.

“It’s a clear sign that the distinctive M feel has arrived in the world of electric vehicles,” said Timo Lassie, BMW M Customer, Brand and Sales Manager.

Last year, among the BMW M division, the M3 series and M4 series, such as the M3 Touring, sold a lot. The second-generation M2 also drew attention with its 6-speed stick transmission and rear-wheel drive. However, the i4 M50 sold more than this.

There are electrified M models other than the BMW i4 M50. BMW XM also debuted last year with the 653 horsepower M Hybrid Drive. The BMW iX M60 was also launched. Again this year, BMW M will introduce the i7 M70.

The BMW M Division announced that it will continue to introduce electrified models, saying, “A further conversion to electric mobility is already planned.” An electric M xDrive all-wheel drive system with four electric motors is also considered as one of the candidates.
