Laura is now married. The young woman, all smiles, is expecting her first child. And yet, Laura had a very difficult childhood, moving from home to home. “I experienced physical and psychological abuse,” she explains.

“Actually, I was told quite abruptly how mum died. I learned about it from my maternal grandmother who told me straight up: “You’ll end up like your mum, in garbage bags, cut up into pieces…” Laura was only two years old when her mum, Nathalie Godart, was killed. And it was at the age of 5 that Laura learned very brutally the circumstances of her disappearance. Laura was entrusted to her grandmother…

“I was saved by primary school. I landed in the arms of my teacher” Laura explains her daily experience, very difficult and brutal. It is from this moment that she is placed in a home.

Resilience

The love of his great-grandmother

A single glimmer of hope in this difficult experience: his great-grandmother. Laura could see her every two weeks. “She wrote me cards and that marked me. Little doses of love

Even if it’s not always easy, Laura has shown resilience. She found the strength to overcome the shock of her mother’s death, the strength to overcome her difficult childhood. “We need small doses of love to move forward. It’s important and it keeps you going. »
