League 1: Universitario, Alianza Lima and other clubs speak out for television rights for 2023

On September 23, at the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) issued a statement in relation to the broadcast rights for the next season Liga 1.

In it they realized that an understanding agreement was reached with 1190 Sports, which would aim to be the new home of the Liga 1 2023. Before it. “We point out that (regarding the FPF statement) that the information sent is limited and does not allow us to know the reality of the events that have been happening in reference to said rights,” they indicated, in the case of the Liga 1In the first moment.

The aforementioned clubs were clear and left their position on what would be the change in the transmission rights of Peruvian soccer.

“We require the FPF to inform the clubs of the documents that support and certify that the bidding process carried out complied with all the established stages. Likewise, we request information on the companies that submitted the offers, what the amounts were and what reasons determined that the process be declared void”, they add.

In addition, they spoke out for the “understanding agreement” between the FPF and the company 1190 Sports. They leave their position on a possible change for the Liga 1 2023.

“Considering the direct affectation of our patrimonial interests as institutions, it is imperative to know the general conditions that the highest body of Peruvian soccer would be agreeing on. For this reason, we request that you provide us with a copy of the agreement that would have been reached,” they said.

Finally, they mention that “we want to record that any agreement that the FPF signs on television rights must avoid the generation of contingencies against our institutions and, in general, Peruvian soccer.”
