Actor Lee Sun-kyun recently announced that he would actively respond to charges such as drug use by appointing a legal representative.
On the 20th, Lee Sun-kyun’s agency, Hodu & U Entertainment, announced that it has appointed a legal representative and will take specific responses to the fact that it was recently identified as the subject of an internal investigation by the Incheon Police Agency’s drug crime investigation unit.
Currently, Lee Sun-kyun is suspected of using marijuana and other drugs on several occasions since last January along with his acquaintances, including a famous third-generation tycoon and an aspiring entertainer. In addition, confirmation of related charges is also being reviewed along with the circumstances that hundreds of millions of won were handed over to the entertainment establishment operator to quell threats against him regarding the disclosure of the drug use charges.
Lee Sun-kyun has appointed a legal representative with his agency, Hodu & U Entertainment, and will faithfully respond to the internal investigation and file a separate complaint regarding the fact that he received blackmail threats.
An official from the Incheon Police Agency, the subject of the internal investigation, said, “It is true that Lee Seon-gyun gave a large amount of money to a drug supplier while doing marijuana,” and added, “An investigation is needed, but it appears that the supplier threatened Lee with the aim of gaining fame.”
Hodu & U Entertainment said, “We are currently verifying the exact facts regarding the allegations raised against actor Lee Sun-kyun, and we intend to faithfully participate in any future investigations by investigative agencies with a sincere attitude.”
Meanwhile, the Incheon Police Agency’s drug crime investigation unit is investigating eight people, including Lee Seon-kyun, a third-generation famous conglomerate, and an aspiring entertainer, for violating the Psychotropic Administration Act under the Narcotics Control Act.
