Regarding the judicial actions carried out in the case of the attack with explosives on a National Police patrol, in the district of San Luis de Neiva (Huila), and in which 7 uniformed personnel died, the Attorney General’s Office is allowed to inform that:

Servants of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), yesterday, September 3, 2022, carried out the removal of the bodies of the victims and they were transferred to the National Institute of Legal Medicine for their custody and preservation. The report and the corresponding minutes of technical inspection of the corpse supported by the material evidence found at the scene are being prepared.

At the scene of the events, photographic and planimetric documentation is being carried out, in addition to the collection and packaging of the material evidence found.

The National Institute of Forensic Medicine, once it receives the records of the technical inspection of the corpse, will initiate a comprehensive forensic approach, by applying the Minnesota Protocol for dealing with unlawful deaths, complying with the international standards applicable to cases like this.

Additionally, there is the participation of experts in pathology and forensic medicine, as well as forensic technicians and assistants from the National Institute of Legal Medicine, who will be in charge of the comprehensive application of the protocol. Once these activities are completed, the bodies will be handed over to their families.
