After their draw last week at home against Rayo Vallecano (0-0), the Blaugrana had to win. They wasted no time: Robert Lewandowski made the difference on his first touch of the ball, on a fine comeback from the young left-back Alejandro Balde: the Polish striker’s first official match goal for Barça ( 0-1, 1st).

Xavi’s men may have seen themselves too good, since Real Sociedad equalized shortly after, on a guilty ball loss from Frenkie de Jong converted into a goal by Swedish striker Alexander Isak with a nice dive from the right ( 6th, 1-1). Without the vigilance of a decisive Marc-André ter Stegen, Mikel Merino (27th) and David Silva (44th) could have allowed Real to return to the locker room with an advantage at the break.
While Alexander Isak was deprived of a double for an offside position on a free kick from Brais Méndez (53rd), Barça took advantage of this warning to recover. On a superb heel from Ansu Fati, who came into play a few moments earlier, Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé scored Barça’s second goal with a nice cross shot from the left (1-2, 66th). Robert Lewandowski did not allow David Silva’s teammates to breathe, since he scored in stride on a new clever assist from Fati (1-3, 68th).
Lewandowski-Fati, a decidedly winning combination since the number 10 of FC Barcelona was returned the favor on a beautiful deviation from the Pole, for a ruthless flat right foot for the goalkeeper (1-4, 79th). FC Barcelona wins its first success of the season with style before facing Real Valladolid. Real Sociedad will travel to Elche on Saturday.
