An 18-year-old graduate from Louisiana has been missing for two days after falling overboard from a boat in the Bahamas during a graduation ceremony, school officials said.

Cameron Robbins was on a sea trip to celebrate the end of his studies at the University High Lab School in Baton Rouge, when he fell from the craft on Wednesday evening, a Louisiana State University spokeswoman told CNN. .

The institution is operated by the university’s College of Humanities and Education. Robbins attended the school for all 13 years of his studies, principal Kevin George told CNN affiliate WBRZ.

“He is a special child who has been here throughout his educational career. He’s an athlete, a big boy, with a big smile, beautiful hair. Just one of the kids you’re so proud of when he walks across the stage,” George said.

“The children contacted us to find out if they could make a prayer circle. Of course we agreed. We really appreciated their initiative in this difficult time,” he continued.

The U.S. Coast Guard participated in the search with the Royal Bahamas Defense Force team, the Coast Guard tweeted Thursday. Robbins reportedly fell overboard while on a sunset cruise near the capital of Nassau.

CNN contacted the Royal Bahamas Defense Force and the Royal Bahamas Police Force without getting an immediate reaction.
