Our weather is determined by humid maritime air becoming increasingly cooler from the North Sea and the northern British Isles. This air circulates between the anticyclone centered west of Ireland and a low pressure area extending from Scandinavia to Spain.

This Thursday morning, it will rain a little, especially in the eastern half of the country, but the afternoon promises to be rather dry with even a few breaks in the clouds on the side of the province of Luxembourg, as well as in the coastal region and from Antwerp.

The north wind will not be too unpleasant but can still blow with peaks of 45 to 55 km / h on the sea side.

In terms of temperatures, we still hope for 7 to 9º by the sea and on the Ardennes heights, and 9 to 11º in the plain.

Next night, the sunny spells will spread more and more over the north-west and the center of the country, but some small showers will still be possible locally on the northern slope of the Ardennes. The Minima will be between 0 and 4º, but rather 4 to 6º by the sea and in Gaume.

With the arrival of a cold front associated with a depression moving east over Denmark, the sky will become overcast from the north of the country with the first rains in Flanders at midday.

These rains will then spread to other regions and turn into melting snow above 400-500m and temporarily light snowfall above 600m.

The north wind will be felt more and more at the end of the day and in the evening with peaks of 60 to 70 km/h at the coast and 40 to 50 km/h in the interior of the country.

Temperatures will reach 3 to 9º in the morning depending on the altitude but they will drop in the afternoon and the following night to reach minimum values ​​of 4 to 5º by the sea, 0 to 3º in the plain and 0 to -2º on the Ardennes terrain.

The high pressure center will arrive in the west of Scotland and will maintain a cool northerly flow over our regions with highly variable cloudiness still giving some small showers towards the sea and in the north of the Ardennes relief.

The north wind will be unpleasant with peaks of 65 to 75 km/h on the coast and 45 to 65 km/h inland.

Maximums of 5 to 8º in general except in the Ardennes where it will only be 1 to 5º depending on altitude.

The sky will clear at night except at the sea and on the campine where clouds will persist and it will freeze in many places with minimums between 2 and -2º in Flanders, 0 to -5º elsewhere with even -5 to -8º in certain valleys ardennes

The air will become increasingly stable and dry with quite a bit of sunshine alternating with some cumulus clouds.

On the other hand, the north-easterly wind will remain unpleasant, blowing with peaks of 50 to 70 km/h, which will significantly increase the impression of cold, while the maximums will display at the best of the day values ​​between +7º in the west and -2º in Hautes Fagnes.

Evolution for the first half of next week:

The anticyclone will remain anchored near Scotland which will freeze the dry northeast current over Western Europe with lots of sunshine during the day but cold nights with widespread frosts which can even be moderate in the interior of the country. and strong in the Ardennes.

Note maximums for the period between 3 and 7º in the plain and at the sea and from 0 to 3º in the Ardennes.

The minimums will show 0 to -2º in the coastal region, -2 to -6º in the interior of the country and -6 to -12º in the Ardennes.
