According to a report by 9to5Mac Apple plans a Mac Studio. This is supposed to be a new variant of the Mac mini, but it is to be equipped with a significantly more powerful processor. According to the information passed to 9to5Mac, the Mac Mini with the fast processors should be called Mac Studio to distinguish it.
As 9to5Mac reports, the new Mac Studio is visually almost indistinguishable from the normal Mac Mini. It should represent a new computer category between Mac mini and Mac Pro and the name should also match the Apple Studio Display, for example.
There have long been rumors that Apple is planning a small and a large Mac Pro, and the “small” could be the Mac Studio. The faster processor is said to be equipped with 40 CPU cores and 128 GPU cores. This should make it the fastest computer Apple has ever built.
We’ll see if Apple will present the Mac Studio at its event on March 8, 2022 or if it will be canceled for the next event.
