The drummer of the Belgian rock group Machiavelli and radio host Marc Ysaye is joining the MR, announced the president of the French-speaking liberals Georges-Louis Bouchez this Thursday during a press conference in the presence of the person concerned.
Marc Ysaye will be a candidate both in the June elections and in the municipal elections in October, added Mr. Bouchez, without specifying the list on which he will appear. Mr. Ysaye said he lived in Corbais, in the commune of Mont-Saint-Guibert (Walloon Brabant).
The disclosure of the lists will take place from Sunday, during the MR’s tour of wishes, province by province. Within the MR, Mr. Ysaye will be “a cultural reference“, but also on “the evolution of society and secularism“.
Aged 70, Marc Ysaye was a radio presenter for 41 years, including 40 at RTBF. Last year, he joined the private radio station Bel RTL.
Marc Ysaye indicated that he was serving the party, ensuring that he had not requested any particular place within the party or on a list. “I have always voted liberal“, confided Marc Ysaye. “What attracted me to this party is that what is said, written, thought, reflected completely corresponds to me.
