Madonna ends world tour with mega-free concert in Rio

Up to 1.5 million people are expected to attend Madonna’s biggest performance in her 40-year career. The 65-year-old is completing her “Celebration Tour” with more than 80 concerts in Europe, the USA and Mexico. The concert in Rio de Janeiro is their only stop in Latin America.

According to her production company, the US musician and her team traveled to the show on Copacabana Beach with three planes and 270 tons of equipment. The singer of hits like “Like A Virgin”, “Material Girl” and “Frozen” is staying in the luxury hotel “Copacabana Palace”. Numerous fans have already camped on a footbridge that leads from the hotel to the concert stage over the past few days. The city of Rio expects around 150,000 fans to travel from abroad for the concert.
