Mali: this trained lawyer transforms a scooter into a mini-pickup

#Mali : Mohamed Cissé is a young unemployed graduate. Faced with the pressure of unemployment, this lawyer by training got to work and succeeded in transforming a tricycle into a cart capable of carrying heavy loads.

Mohamed Cissé also has a general university degree (DEUG) in English. His diplomas in hand, he might not get a job, despite months of research. So, armed with his genius and his will to succeed, Cissé salvaged scrap metal to design a cart in his workshop in Banankoro, regarding 30 km from Bamako.

For four years, he devoted himself to this project using elements taken from a scooter, in particular the engine and the chassis. Its pick-up type car, with a 200cc tricycle engine and two front seats, can carry more than one ton of loads with an average speed of 60-80 km per hour. In terms of consumption, the vehicle does not exceed 5 liters per 100 km.

With the current crisis across the world, Cissé plans to explore alternatives to transform his car into a hybrid vehicle. That is to say, in addition to the heat engine, add an electric motor that works only with solar energy. But, for that, it will need funding, because it lacks the means.

The young Malian thus intends to join forces with partners to carry out this project. According to him, if it reaches its industrial phase, it will be possible to manufacture similar cars at less than 800,000 FCFA (1,300 euros).
