Man Arrested at Kim Kardashian’s Hidden Hills Compound After Alleged Burglary and Joyride
A routine Sunday afternoon in an exclusive gated community turned chaotic when a 27-year-old suspect allegedly breached Kim Kardashian’s sprawling Hidden Hills property, helped himself to items, and took a staff member’s vehicle for a joyride before law enforcement intervened.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, authorities received a frantic call from a security guard just before 4 p.m. on Sunday reporting a burglary at a home located in the 24800 block of Long Valley Road. Neither Kardashian nor her children were present at the residence during the incident, as the property is currently undergoing extensive renovations.
Inside the Breach on Long Valley Road
The suspect, identified by KABC-TV as Trey Mendel, managed to slip past the perimeter of the ultra-exclusive enclave. Mendel reportedly entered the property through a side door before security personnel spotted him actively loading various items into a vehicle.
Before deputies arrived to lock down the scene, Mendel allegedly took things a step further by stealing a car parked on the premises and taking it for a brief joyride. Eyewitness News confirmed that the vehicle belonged to a staff member working at the estate, not to Kardashian herself.
Deputies swiftly apprehended Mendel, and he remains in custody. He faces preliminary charges of burglary and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. While formal charges have not yet been filed, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office is slated to review the case for prosecution.
A Troubling History of Security Vulnerabilities
Back in 2016, she was the target of a terrifying armed robbery in Europe when five masked gunmen disguised as police officers stormed her Paris luxury hotel suite. The perpetrators bound and gagged her before fleeing with roughly $10 million in jewelry. French authorities ultimately found eight people guilty in connection with that meticulously planned heist.

The Legal Road Ahead for the Suspect
Kardashian has not yet publicly commented on the weekend breach at her Hidden Hills compound.
