The World News, July 20, according to Romano, Manchester City has reached an agreement with the Leipzig Red Bull to sign Josco Gvadio.
Gvardi Orl, who agreed personal terms with City a month ago, has reportedly completed the first part of his medical. The imminent arrival of the 21-year-old has made the departure of Laporte, who has been linked with a return to Athletic Bilbao after falling out of favor under Pep Guardiola, a possible departure.
City had previously offered Gvardiorl a €75m bid that was rejected but are still in talks with RB Leipzig, who are insisting on a world-record transfer fee for a defender.
Gvardiorr has been the subject of interest from Leeds United in the past and revealed his desire to one day play in the Premier League when speaking about his future earlier this year.
“Bielsa is a good coach, I don’t know if you know that, but the goal of my career is to play in the Premier League,” Gvardiorl told The Times.
“I didn’t speak to Bielsa, but of course, he sent some people to Zagreb. I met these people and they showed me how they saw my plans for my style of football.
“I mean when they show it, everything looks good and you can maybe see yourself in that moment. I know I need to take a little bit more before I get to[the Premier League]one day.”
Gvardi Orl scored in Leipzig’s Champions League tie with Manchester City in February, which ended 1-1, although he and his team-mates were beaten 7-0 in the second leg. The Croatia international will become City’s second signing in the Premier League transfer window following the arrival of Chelsea compatriot Kovacic.
Earlier today, defending European champions Manchester City agreed to sell Mahrez to Saudi Arabian side Jeddah National and are now expected to seek a new winger.
