Mankind Pharma Shares Jump 8% After Q2 Profit Surges 38% to Rs 716 Crore

Mankind Pharma shares climbed nearly 8% on Tuesday, reaching an intraday peak of Rs 2,500 on the NSE following news of a 38% year-on-year increase in Q2 profit after tax, which reached Rs 716 crore on the back of strong domestic and international revenue growth.

Market Performance and Q2 Financial Metrics

Here is the math behind the latest exchange filing from Mankind Pharma (NSE: MANKIND). The company posted a net profit of Rs 716 crore for the September quarter, up from Rs 520.2 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations reached Rs 4,337.9 crore, marking a 17.3% increase compared to Rs 3,697.2 crore a year ago.

But the balance sheet tells an even sharper story of operational efficiency. EBITDA climbed to Rs 1,175 crore from Rs 924 crore in Q2FY26, pushing the EBITDA margin up by 210 basis points year-on-year to 27.1%. Meanwhile, the PAT margin expanded 240 basis points to reach 16.5%.

Domestic Execution and Export Expansion

The domestic pharmaceutical business—excluding consumer healthcare—grew 15.9%, powered by steady demand across chronic and acute care segments. Cardiac treatments expanded by approximately 19%, while anti-diabetes portfolios recorded a 16% increase. Vice Chairman & Managing Director Rajeev Juneja noted that disciplined execution underpins these fundamental gains.

At the same time, international operations provided a vital secondary engine. Exports surged 32.7% year-on-year to Rs 681 crore in the quarter, supported by momentum across both Mankind and BSV International. The company added one new product during the period, bringing its total US product count to 50.

Consumer Healthcare Shifts

Consumer healthcare revenue faced headwinds from slower industry offtake and regional weakness across Eastern and Southern markets. Even so, core brands Manforce and Preganews captured additional market share.

Financial Metric Q2FY27 Q2FY26 YoY Change
Revenue from Operations Rs 4,337.9 Cr Rs 3,697.2 Cr +17.3%

Strategic R&D Investments and Future Valuation

To sustain its competitive moat, the pharmaceutical major entered the advanced therapeutics space. The recent acquisition of Armed Cell Therapeutics establishes a direct entry point into Next-Generation CAR-T therapies. Leadership intends to leverage this buyout to reinforce long-term research and development capabilities.

Achieving a 15.7% increase in secondary sales, the company outpaced the broader Indian Pharmaceutical Market’s (IPM) 14.2% expansion to reach a growth multiplier of 1.1 times the market rate. Diluted earnings per share for the first half of FY27 stood at Rs 30.9, representing a 34.6% increase on a face value of Re 1 per share.
