In the first of two giant slaloms in Aspen, USA, in sunshine and blue skies, in the lower part of the “Strawpile” piste on a somewhat soft piste, the overall World Cup winner was once again Marco Odermatt took the interim lead in a time of 1:05.09 minutes. The Norwegian follows directly behind the Swiss, just 12 hundredths of a second behind Alexander Steen Olson, who will do everything in his power to break Odermatt’s streak of 10 giant slalom victories in a row in the final at 9 p.m. Follows in third place Loic Meillard (+ 0.19) another Swiss.

With the Slovenian Zan Kranjec (+ 0.43) and Henrik Kristoffersen (+ 0.64) from Norway there are two podium candidates lurking in positions four and five.

Take the last four positions in this list Anton Grammel (+2.81) from Germany, Louis Muhlen-Schulte (+2.96) from Australia, the Austrian Dominik Raschner (+3.03) and the Swiss Luca Aerni (+3.05), who completes the field in thirtieth place.
