Apparently, the authorities did not take into consideration the climate issue and the smoke reached residential areas.

International media gave an account of a complex situation that was experienced in Colombia, where a seized marijuana burning got out of control and ended drugging thousands of people in a city.

According to what was reported Caracol TVA week ago, a ton of this plant was seized in the state of Antioquia, so they later decided to proceed with its elimination.

However, that day the authorities did not take into account the weather conditions, in fact there were strong winds during the day.

Consequently, the situation quickly spiraled out of control and, as a result of the gusts, the smoke moved from the Pedro Nel Ospina military barracks to residential areas of the city of Bello, affecting thousands of people for an entire afternoon.

Locals supported the aforementioned medium that, throughout that day, felt dizzy and experienced vomiting, product of intoxication.

Affected by the burning of marijuana

“There was a very horrible smoke coming out of the battalion, from the Pedro Nel Ospina, and a tremendous smell of marijuana that blocked (drugged) everyone,” said a man named Edilberto Castano.

Another indicated: “(I felt) very dizzy throughout the afternoon, it was up to one to continue working, but very dizzy, one who is not used to these things as they say, the passive is the one who suffers the most.”

From the municipality of Bello they maintained that there was no severe intoxication due to this fact, although they recognized that the burning got out of control.

For their part, the neighbors called for “better measures” to be taken when these operations are carried out, taking into account that many children and older adults live there.
