Names of the victims and injured in a bus-trailer collision in Minya

The Eastern Desert Road witnessed an accident involving a public transport bus and a heavy transport vehicle with a trailer near the village of Al Barsha in Mallawy District, Minya Governorate, resulting in the death of 22 people and the injury of 33 others.

The accident resulted in the death of Mahmoud Hamdi Mahmoud, 27 years old, a veterinarian from Assiut Governorate, Omar Ahmed Mahmoud Shalaby, 37 years old, from Sohag Governorate, Ahmed Bahaa Abdel Aziz, 35 years old, an employee from Assiut Governorate, and Laila Mohamed Marei, 65 years old, from Cairo Governorate, and 18 other unidentified bodies As of this writing.

The accident also resulted in the injury of Mohamed Farag Fahmy, 24 years old, Sohag, Mona Abdo Ali, 55 years old, Assiut, Omar Mustafa Mahmoud, 20 years old, student of Assiut, Ahmed Mukhtar Mohamed, sales representative, 35 years old, Assiut, Sarah Noshy Abdel Alim, 33 years old, Amer Youssef Saad, 65 years old, Assiut, and Raymond. The security services in Minya Governorate had received a notification from the Rescue Operations Room, of a collision of a public transport bus carrying about 45 passengers, with a heavy transport vehicle that was parked on the side of the eastern desert road near the village of Al-Barsha, east of the Nile.

The Minya Ambulance Authority branch pushed 10 cars to transport the injured, and Major General Osama Al-Qadi, the governor of Minya, followed up on a mass transport bus accident from behind with a trailer transport vehicle on the eastern desert road in Mallawi Center, where the governor moved immediately in the early hours of Tuesday morning to inspect the site of the accident and follow up on all the details. The initial data of the accident indicated that the transport vehicle was parked on the side of the road to change the tire, and it was hit from behind by the bus coming from Sohag Governorate and heading to Cairo Governorate.
