In particular, she discusses her break-up with former Canadian player Brandon Prust, with whom she had a ten-year relationship. They separated in 2019, shortly after getting married.

In veiled words, Maripier Morin explains that this relationship was toxic as much for her as for Brandon Prust.

“My previous relationship, which I lived for 10 years, was toxic for both of them, she says. My ex had a lot of trouble coping with the end of his career and I focused on being his psychological support. At the same time, I worked like crazy and didn’t take care of myself. […]

The year of his separation, Maripier Morin had a busy schedule. She calculates that she worked 325 days that year. “I didn’t take the time to go through my separation or my divorce. I swept all of that under the rug and got even more dedicated to the work. I was a ticking time bomb, and I knew it. I no longer wanted to go out to bars and have a social life. When you start using alone, there is a problem. When I consumed towards the end, it was binges (cocaine and alcohol) because I could not consume as often as I would have liked.

In the interview, she talks about her therapy and her stay in a rehab center. She admits she still has to to watch so as not to try to fill the void she still feels.

After a publicized incident with singer Safia Nolin more than two years ago, Maripier Morin was forced to retire from public life. She has since admitted to substance abuse issues that led to excessive and destructive behavior.

During the year 2022, Maripier Morin returned to the news. She notably played the main role in the film Arlette, directed by Mariloup Wolfe. She also hosts a podcast that collects the testimonies of different personalities against drug addiction.
