Mark Vaes (CTO) is leaving Additive Industries

Mark Vaes, CTO at Additive Industries, has left the Dutch manufacturer of 3D metal printers. He makes the switch to ASML. With his departure, Additive Industries loses one of the employees who have been at the basis of the MetalFab 1 and MetalFab Gen2.

Mark Vaes was one of the first employees at the start of Additive Industries, following Daan Kersten and Jonas Wintermans started the company in 2013. He has had a major influence on how the MetalFab eventually took shape. From the start, they aimed to change the then existing AM industry by developing a system for the production of functional end parts. “After 10 years, that vision is still very much alive, and I am leaving knowing that Additive Industries has a world-class product that meets that mission,” writes Mark Vaes in a post on his LinkedIn profile.

Mark Beard takes over as CTO.

His role at Additive Industries will be taken over by Mark Beard, who joined Additive Industries in 2017 to lead the Process & Application team in Eindhoven. After the departure of co-founder Daan Kersten, Mark Vaes briefly combined his role as CTO with that of CEO, until Ian Howe was brought in as CEO in March 2021.

Mark Vaes will start working at ASML as Director Mechanical Development. In this role he manages a large team of engineers.
