A massive mobilization in Jujuy demanded the governor Gerardo Moralesthat respects the Democratic freedoms and the right to organize. The protest sought to make visible the repressive escalation that occurs in the province: in July there were 16 raids on neighborhood dining rooms and picnic areas; Later it became known that the police had infiltrated the popular movements that had protested against Morales at the door of the Legislature during the opening of the ordinary sessions. In March, on a day to ask for food, 15 protesters were arrested. In July, it was the turn of three others, including the local representative of the Workers Party. And last week, the Excluded Workers Movement reported that a group of hooded kidnapped a popular communicator who is a member of the organization for 12 hours, a fact that Morales’ Security Minister assures did not happen but that justice takes time to investigate. For this reason, the organizations denounce that the persecution is state and parapolice.
The mobilization left the outskirts of San Salvador de Jujuy and was destined for the Goverment house. He brought together popular movements, human rights organizations, unions and leftist political groups, who were accompanied by a delegation of national leaders.
