Kottayam ∙ Syndicate meeting decided to grant maternity leave to degree and PG students in MG University. It is better that you can continue your studies without interrupting the semester. Those who are over 18 years old are allowed 60 days leave before or following childbirth. 14 days leave will be allowed in cases of abortion, abortion, tubectomy etc.
Other provisions for maternity leave
∙ Must be first or second pregnancy
∙ Leave only once during a course.
∙ The Principal, the head of the study center or the director may grant leave following considering the certificate of the registered doctor. Application should be submitted 3 days in advance.
∙ The head of the institution or department should make arrangements if those on leave have to attend practical, lab and viva examinations.
