Max Verstappen showed the best time in the third training session in Montreal, while Sergio Perez, his partner, finished the session on the 17th line of the protocol. Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, commented on the results on Sky Sports.

Christian Horner: “Conditions were difficult, visibility during the session is not important, because these intermediate tires raise a very dense veil of spray. Nevertheless, we have collected a large amount of information, especially since the same weather will accompany the qualification.

For Max, the session was successful, he quickly got into the right rhythm and was able to avoid trouble. Thanks to his aggressive driving style, he manages to quickly warm up the tires. But Sergio got out of the rhythm, but I’m not particularly worried, in qualifying he will find him again. In training, he did not manage to get the rubber working effectively, but we will provide him and his engineers with all the necessary information so that they are properly prepared for qualifying.

During the session, in general, all riders complained about the blocking of the front brakes, but this is due to the fact that the front tires were difficult to warm up to the desired temperature. Probably, in qualifying it will be difficult to decide at what point to switch from tires for heavy rain to intermediate rubber.

Since the weather may change by Sunday, we have to compromise on the settings. Temperatures will probably be different tomorrow, so you need to find some middle ground so that riders feel confident behind the wheel, but do not want to adjust the wings too much angle of attack, because then the race will begin to be difficult due to insufficiently high maximum speed.

I think that this weekend our strongest opponents will be the Ferrari drivers, it looks like they have pretty fast cars. Aston Martin is about at their level, but Mercedes is a little behind so far – it looks like they have problems with warming up the rubber. ”
