Maxime takes advantage of an offer from Carrefour to fill up with diesel for 16 euros, the brand must modify its conditions!

Prices are soaring at the pump and large retailers are increasing operations at cost price to reduce the bill, but Maxime, a resident of Bois-Guillaume (in Normandy), found the right plan last Tuesday, as our colleagues from Paris write. Normandy.

The man obtained a full refund, up to €73.32! That Tuesday, diesel cost 20 cents more at the Carrefour service station in La Vatine than at Total Access in Bihorel: “There has been a sign for several months indicating that Carrefour reimburses ten times the difference if we find cheaper elsewhere. I gave it a shot.” explains Maxime to our colleagues.

On the spot, before filling the tank, he goes to the reception of the store to inquire. The manager says: “Fill up with us, bring us a ticket from another pump and we’ll refund the difference. »

Direction the Total station. On site, a liter of diesel costs €1.92 compared to €2.09 at Carrefour. Maxime therefore buys a few liters of fuel to obtain a receipt: “Once at Carrefour, I filled up with 42.90l for €90. It was worth it. » For sure, faced with receipts, management had no choice but to refund the difference. An amount of €73.32 credited to the bank card used at the service station. Maxime therefore achieved his full price for only €16.68!

A short-term offer

“For four months we have been offering this reimbursement. This is the first time that I have seen a bank refund for this kind of operation”, specifies the reception of the store. Too good to last. So, before all the motorists rush home, the Carrefour group decided to plan its conditions, offering only a reimbursement of twice the difference, against ten originally. On Wednesday, a new sign was posted.

The group indicates that the offer should last some time but is doing everything to match the prices of the competition.
