After less than half a year, Rudi Garcia has to give up the coaching position at the Italian champions SSC Napoli. The Frenchman will be replaced by the Italian Walter Mazzarri.
Garcia came in the summer for the departed Scudetto coach Luciano Spalletti, who is now Italy’s team boss. In Serie A, Napoli are already ten points behind league leaders Inter Milan following twelve rounds. In the Champions League we are on course for the round of 16.
With Mazzarri comes a coach who the demanding club president Aurelio De Laurentiis knows well. The Tuscan worked as a film producer for the Neapolitans from 2009 to 2013. He then coached Inter Milan, Watford, Torino and most recently Cagliari.
