The Kagoshima Marathon was held on the 5th for the first time in four years.

For the first time in four years, 5,581 people participated in the full marathon and 2,411 people participated in the 8.9 km fun run. The runners were running energetically while receiving cheers from the roadside.

In the race, Yusuke Tobimatsu, a civil servant runner from Hioki City Hall, won the race for the fourth time in a row with a new tournament record of 2 hours 14 minutes 40 seconds. Second place was Hiroaki Furukawa of the University of Tokyo, and third place was Daiki Yoshimura of Miyazaki Rikukyo.

In the women’s event, Koiro Sakakawa of Kagoshima Bank, who challenged the full marathon for the first time, won the race with a time of 2:38:57. Second place was Mari Yonekura of Ohori Runners, and third place was Midori Yoshimura of Susara.

The tournament will be broadcast as a special program on MBC TV from 7:00 pm on Wednesday the 8th.
