Behavior Interactive, the makers behind Dead by Daylight, have their new project Meet Your Maker announced that it will be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC.
Meet Your Maker is a first-person building and raiding game where each level is designed by players for players. The gameplay revolves around the creation and infiltration of self-contained levels, the so-called Outposts. Players switch roles as they design intricate, maze-like outposts filled with traps and sentries, then gear up for methodical, fast-paced combat to ambush others’ creations.
In a dying world, players take on the role of… Custodianthe servant of Chimera: a living experiment created as a last resort to save life on Earth. You participate in a tactical battle for the planet’s most coveted resource and the key to the evolution of the Chimera part: pure genetic material.
But it won’t be easy to obtain. Players must build and fortify maze-like outposts that mine and guard the precious materials, or infiltrate and outwit other players’ creations to collect more. With every outpost in the game being built by the community, fan-created content is the game’s driving force.
“Behaviour Interactive is known for creating unique moments for players, and Meet Your Maker clearly lives up to that reputation,” said Ash Pannell, creative director of Meet Your Maker. “The game is built on top of UGC, creating deep social connections whether you’re playing solo or co-op. As a builder, you can share your carefully constructed outpost and watch other players take it over via our replay system. It never gets boring watching other people die. You will get rewards and learn how to improve your creation. As a raider, you try, die, try again, and eventually gain the knowledge to extract the GenMat and emerge victorious. Either way, it’s highly entertaining and always fun to watch. Fans can expect to get their hands on the game in 2023, and in the meantime, they can log on to the Meet Your Maker website to participate in the closed playtest, which begins August 23.”
But building is also about erecting outposts designed to lure, trick, and kill unauthorized players. Combine a massive array of customizable blocks, traps, and guards to strategically create a deadly masterpiece. The innovative AI recording system allows guards to record their own patrol paths to surprise and swarm looters. On the other hand, outposts set up by others must be raided. Each outpost will test their courage, wits, and reflexes as they try to get in, grab the genetic material, and get it out alive, too. No outpost is like the other, which ensures a high replay value.
