Archbishop of Lima: “There is a huge political crisis with a viral background of corruption”
In the sermon of the mass and tedeum, the Archbishop of Lima Carlos Castillo made a parallel with Peru a few years after its independence. Before there was talk of caudillismo and complicity with colonialism, he pointed out.
Now, “public institutions are deficient and corroded by the needs of security, health, work, quality education, ecological balance, autonomous solidarity organizations, development of indigenous populations and other demands of our people.”
In addition, there is a “huge political crisis with a viral background of corruption and cover-up at the service of particular interests. Indifference, individualism, group interests, mafias,” he stressed.
