Woodhouse managed to beat Van Gerwen 6-3 and that can be called a surprise. Van Gerwen took the evening victory in the Premier League three times in a row and achieved a unique performance. Last week, the Dutchman also reached the final of the UK Open, but surprisingly he had to recognize his superior in Andrew Gilding.

Dirk van Duijvenbode and Danny Noppert, who both won a Players Championship this year, did qualify for the second round. However, Noppert lost to Shaun Wilkinson: 5-6. Van Duijvenbode steamed through to the third round of the PDC floor tournament in Barnsley, just like Raymond van Barneveld, Jeffrey de Zwaan, Geert Nentjes, Danny van Trijp, Chris Landman and Kevin Doets.
That turned out to be the final station for Nentjes. Van Barneveld reached the eighth finals by beating Bradley Brooks in an exciting match: 6-5. Also Van Duijvenbode (6-3 against George Killington), De Zwaan (6-5 against Jonny Clayton), Van Trijp (6-4 against Callan Rydz), Doets (6-5 against Cameron Menzies) and Landman (6-3 against Ryan Joyce) secured a place in the last sixteen. Van Barneveld meets Doets, Van Duijvenbode takes on De Zwaan.
