Ministry of Education: Epidemic prevention guidelines for primary and secondary schools relax the regulations on the type and number of accommodation in Bilu

As the epidemic slows down, the Ministry of Education recently revised the guidelines for epidemic prevention in primary and secondary schools, removed the accommodation room type and number of people for outdoor teaching activities (such as graduation trips), and shortened the number of days for contingency measures for confirmed cases from 14 days to 10 days. The National and Preschool Education Department of the Ministry of Education issued a letter to primary and secondary schools on the 3rd of this month, explaining the revision of the “Guidelines for the Prevention and Management of Severe Special Infectious Pneumonia in Schools below Senior Secondary Schools and Kindergartens in the 110th School Year”, requiring schools to follow the latest regulations.

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced at a press conference on February 24 that in order to keep in line with international standards and maintain domestic COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) epidemic prevention capacity, social and economic activities, and effective risk control, at 00:00 on March 7 Since then, the entry home quarantine has been shortened from 14 days to 10 days.

In response to the above changes, the Ministry of Education’s latest guidelines for primary and secondary schools have also adjusted the “disposition of confirmed cases when they are campus personnel” starting from March 7. Contacts must undergo rapid screening and nucleic acid testing on a regular basis, which has been revised to 10 days. The number of days to increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfection operations has also been shortened from 14 days to 10 days.

Before and after the winter vacation is the peak season for graduation travel, the Ministry of Education originally stipulated that the accommodation must be arranged in the room type of “2 people 1 room”, “1 person 1 bed” or single room; “Rooms” are limited, causing problems for schools to arrange restaurants. In the newly revised guidelines, these room type and number of people requirements are removed.

The Ministry of Education explained that the above adjustments are due to the latest “Administrative Measures for Travel Industry Handling Group Travel Epidemic Prevention” issued by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation, which no longer stipulates the type of accommodation and the number of people, so the school’s epidemic prevention guidelines are adjusted simultaneously.

However, the Ministry of Education still reminds that outdoor education activities should still maintain social distance, wear masks in accordance with regulations, and observe the limit on the number of people in the space and the joint system. If the activity is in the forest or seaside area, the epidemic prevention regulations shall be handled in accordance with the latest announcement of the command center.
