Missing man found in Yatsugatake mountain range Akadake | NHK Nagano news

A 48-year-old man from Aichi Prefecture, who had slipped and disappeared on the 2nd of this month at Akadake in the Yatsugatake Mountains, was found dead on the 6th.

On the 2nd of this month, Mr. Takushi Konno (48) from Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, who was climbing near the summit of Mt. Akadake in the Yatsugatake Mountains, reported to the police that he had fallen on a rocky place and injured his leg and could not move.
As a result of the search, a police helicopter found Mr. Konno lying on a slope about 300 meters below the mountain trail after 10 am on the 6th, but he was confirmed dead on the spot.
Since Mr. Konno had been climbing alone since the 1st of this month, the police are investigating the detailed situation at the time, assuming that he had fallen for some reason.
According to the police, 11 people were lost in the mountains in the prefecture between the 29th of last month and the 3rd of this month, the highest number during the year-end and New Year holidays in the past 10 years.
The risk of accidents increases during the winter season, when climbing conditions worsen due to snow, etc., so the police are calling for paying close attention to the latest weather information and not climbing unreasonably.
