Rio Avi coach comments on Aziz Yacoubou’s approach to joining Al-Ahly

Louis Ferrer, coach of the Portuguese team Rio Ave, commented on the approach of Abdel Aziz Yaqoubou, the star of his team, to join the ranks of Al-Ahly club, during the current winter transfer period.

The Rio Ave coach admitted the possibility of losing the services of Yaqobu, the team’s top scorer this season with 8 goals, in the January market, after he traveled to Egypt to negotiate his transfer contract to Al-Ahly.

Ferrer said during a press conference today, Friday, about the possible transfer of Abdel Aziz Yaqoubou to Al-Ahly: “When there is a possibility of transfer, as long as it is good for the player and for the club, it is good for everyone.”

When asked if the team was unstable after the imminent departure of Yaqobu, the coach said: “The group feels happy when any element has the opportunity to improve its living conditions.”

In a related context, Abdelaziz Yacoubou was excluded from his team’s list, which will face Vitoria Guimaraes tomorrow, Saturday, for the fifteenth round of the Portuguese League.

It is noteworthy that Yaqobu, the 24-year-old, arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, at dawn on Wednesday, and was received by Amir Tawfiq, Director of Contracting and Marketing at Al-Ahly, and his final position is expected to be announced within the next few hours.
