Mobility week: Free through Ischl, Gmunden and Traunstein

The transport transition has been successful. At least for a week. From Saturday, September 16th to Friday, September 22nd, a large part of local public transport in the Salzkammergut is available free of charge.

The reason for this is the European Mobility Week, which is intended to mobilize people for climate-friendly transport every year with tempting offers. The goal: fewer cars – more bus and train kilometers.

The Upper Austrian Transport Association is therefore offering free rides on their city and local buses throughout the week. This specifically affects city traffic in Vöcklabruck, Regau, Redlham and Attnang-Puchheim. The Bad Ischl city bus and the one in Gmunden also run free of charge.

In keeping with the theme, the municipality of Ebensee is offering two trial tickets for public transport from Ebensee to Linz (train, bus, tram) from September 18th to November 17th. The Citizens Service Center accepts registrations on 06133/7051.

Free for late summer hikes

The offer that alpine clubs, Traunstein hut owners and the municipality of Gmunden have created for the mobility week is not only in keeping with the topic, but also in keeping with the current weather: From Monday September 18th to Sunday September 24th, the shuttle bus will run to the turnaround point daily and free of charge. Even if the weather changes spontaneously.

When presenting their ticket, hikers and mountaineers receive an additional two euros as a bonus at both Traunstein huts and the Mairalm.
