SOREL TRACY | A substitute teacher and soccer coach from Montérégie is accused of sexually assaulting a student under 16 at the high school where he taught last year.
Tommy Deroy, 32, was arrested early Wednesday morning by the Sûreté du Québec at his home in Sorel-Tracy.
After being questioned by investigators in the morning, he officially appeared at the end of the morning at the Sorel-Tracy courthouse.
He faces charges of sexual assault and sexual interference with a teenage girl under the age of 16.
According to our information, the victim who cannot be identified due to a court order was a student at the school where Deroy was doing replacement work.
In addition to having been a substitute teacher at a local high school last year, he has coached soccer in civilian and school leagues for boys and girls for the past dozen years.
