A little less than half (45.5%) of the electoral propaganda for the first round of the presidential election was distributed by La Poste this “Wednesday at 12 noon”four days before the first round, said the Ministry of the Interior and La Poste.
In a joint statement, they assured that this distribution was taking place “in accordance with the planned schedule”. At the last check-in this afternoon, “21.8 million envelopes have been distributed” and the “remaining envelopes are in transit”.
The precedent of departmental and regional
During the departmental and regional elections last year, the distribution of electoral propaganda experienced significant malfunctions attributed to one of the service providers, Adrexo. The latter had been entrusted with this task in part with La Poste at the end of a framework agreement concluded with the State, valid for four years.
These setbacks had lead the government to entrust all the distribution of electoral envelopes to La Poste again. The distributor has until Saturday April 9 to send the letters, 24 hours before the first round.
