At Russia’s request, an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council will be held this Thursday to discuss the situation at Ukraine’s Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, which kyiv and Moscow accuse each other of bombing.
Russia has the right of veto, as do the other four permanent members: the United States, China, France and the United Kingdom.
The G7, a group of the world’s most industrialized countries, accused Moscow on Wednesday of “endangering” the region around Zaporizhia and demanded the return of the plant to Ukraine.
