Another striking image was captured in Ukraine, following the video of a mother and her children killed by mortar fire in Irpin that outraged the whole world. Last week, a maternity hospital was bombed in Mariupol. A snapshot of a pregnant woman taken care of by the emergency services had then gone around the world.
The photograph in question was taken by Evgeniy Maloletka. The latter indicates today that the mother succumbed to her injuries. Her baby also did not survive.
The Ukrainian authorities had drawn up an initial assessment of the attack. It reported three dead and 17 injured.
