Multan Sultans beat Karachi Kings by 20 runs

In the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9, Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by 20 runs and qualified for the playoffs.

In the match played at National Bank Stadium, Karachi, Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and elected to bat first.

Both Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings have made two changes to their team. In Kings, Kieron Pollard and Anwar Ali have been replaced by Louis Deploy and Mir Hamza.

Sultans replaced Aftab Ibrahim and Shah Nawaz Dhani with Chris Jordan and David Vale.

Multan Sultans scored 189 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, Usman Khan scored a magnificent century and played an unbeaten innings of 106 runs off 59 balls. This is his second century in PSL.

Apart from this, captain Muhammad Rizwan scored 58 runs and Reese Hendricks scored 13 runs, Iftikhar Ahmed scored 4 runs and got out.

Mazrabani took 2 wickets and Hasan Ali took 1 wicket for Karachi Kings.

Chasing the target of 190 runs by Multan Sultans, the Karachi Kings team managed to score 169 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Shoaib Malik scored 38 runs and Shan Masood scored 36 runs, Irfan Khan scored 23 runs, Hassan Ali scored 17 runs and Lewis Duploy scored 12 runs while James Vance scored 7 runs and Tim Seifert scored one run.

Apart from this, Mohammad Nawaz remained not out with 27 runs.

On behalf of Multan, Osama Mir dismissed 2 players, David Wiley, Muhammad Ali, Chris Jordan and Khushdil Shah took one wicket each.

On the points table, Multan Sultans are at the top position with 12 points from 7 matches and have also become the first team to reach the playoffs in PSL Season 9.

On the other hand, Karachi have won only 2 out of 6 matches and lost in 4.

On the points table, Multan Sultans are first, Quetta Gladiators are second and Peshawar Zalmi are third. Islamabad is fourth, Karachi is fifth and Lahore Qalandars is sixth.
