The Municipal Authority of Patras invites all the workers of our city, the workers of the Municipality of Patras, but also the self-employed, the farmers, the unemployed, the youth, the entire people of Patras, to participate in the strike on Wednesday, April 17, and the strike rally at 10:30 in the morning at the Labor Center of Patras.
As stated in a statement: “The people of Patra have proven many times that they know how to rise up, to claim their rights. He doesn’t remain an observer, he doesn’t just describe his anxieties about today and tomorrow, he demands to have what he is entitled to!
The strike on April 17, can be a station of strengthening of the current of questioning and anger towards the government, the EU, capital.
It may also be a continuation of the great mobilization organized by the Municipality of Patreon, together with dozens of unions and agencies of our city, with the slogan “A city on foot!”, on February 10, when the stairs of Agios Nikolaos were flooded, but also the center of the city, by thousands of natives who claimed what they are entitled to.
We are again putting forward our claims for Patras! We join our voice with the workers, who are fighting for wage increases, Collective Bargaining Agreements, immediate measures against punctuality, for a life with rights and dignity.
Together, we can have conquests, pave the way for the life we dream of. That’s why on April 17th they have to “kill” everything. Let’s all meet on the road.

WE CLAIM:
• To give here and now the 67 million that governments have been withholding over time from the annual funding of the Municipality of Patreon.
• Recruitment of permanent employees in the Municipality, according to the needs of each Service. Repeal of the Law prohibiting the conversion of fixed-term contracts to open-ended ones.
• Abolish the landfill fee.
• Direct funding of all School Committees, to meet the great needs of our children.
• Recruitment of full-time cleaners, based on the actual needs of the schools.
• Generous funding of cultural and sports structures and activities.
• To carry out an integrated tertiary anti-seismic control, under the responsibility of the state, drawing up static adequacy studies by specialized levels of engineers for all public buildings, with priority for schools, workers’ housing, public health structures, the University of Patras and the former TEI .
• To carry out important flood and fire protection projects that are necessary in our region under the responsibility of the state and the Region.
• Undergrounding of the train from Rio to Kanellopoulou Street.
• Not to merge the BOTH. Abolition of the legislative framework for the implementation of the EU Directives. for water and related business activity”.
