Murakami Rock Band Announces “The Bride Wants to Go Home” Tour and New Album

Rock band Murakami is launching a massive 40-city tour titled “The Bride Wants to Go Home” to support their thirteenth studio album, starting with high-profile performances in Kazan.

The tour, which spans from Kaliningrad to Novosibirsk, features a setlist blending established hits with new material from their April 2026 release.

The group’s return to the stage marks their first full-length project in three years. Following the release of the album The Bride Wants to Go Home, the band is shifting from the studio to the arena, bringing a deeply personal narrative to fans across the country this autumn.

Personal narratives drive the new album

The new record is not merely a collection of songs but a reflection of the band’s recent lived experiences. According to the band, the tracks capture a spectrum of emotions ranging from joy and sadness to intense self-reflection.

Lead singer Dilara Vagapova shared that the album serves as a vessel for the band’s personal journeys. “This album is our life, we are walking our own path,” Vagapova stated. She noted that the songs encompass everything from breakups and searching for answers to personal disputes and pain.

While the songs vary in temperament, Vagapova emphasized that love acts as the unifying force. “Brides can be different. You won’t be able to let everything go, but to tell about it and share your experience—that’s another matter,” she added, noting that love connects all the emotions expressed in the work.

Rail Latypov managed production across Kazan, Moscow, and Nizhny Novgorod

The creative process for the album was centered in Kazan, Moscow, and Nizhny Novgorod. Much of the material was recorded at the studio of guitarist and musical director Rail Latypov, who managed the full production cycle for the project.

The album features several high-profile collaborations and diverse musical textures. Notable tracks include “Maximalist” featuring Nail Sheri and “Oldboy” in collaboration with the group Slot. Other tracks mentioned include "Who is John Galt?", "Salutes", and "Kamchatka".

For instance, the song “Where the River Flows” originated over a decade ago. Meanwhile, the track “Fly,” performed by Latypov, has been described as one of the most intimate points on the record.
