Runecraft Unveils Crystalbound Roguelite for NOSTRA World
Runecraft Studios announced NOSTRA: Crystalbound, a standalone action roguelite set in the world of its dark fantasy RPG NOSTRA. Heiligenroth, Germany-based solo developer Gökhan Cirag revealed the game at the end of a “State of NOSTRA” developer video on November 6, 2026.
Crystalbound Features a Dark Fantasy World Powered by Crystal
Crystalbound is set in the year 860 of the Charter, long after the events of NOSTRA. The game’s dark fantasy world was once powered by crystal, which was burned recklessly until portals appeared. Now, crystal grows everywhere, lighting lamps and firing forges, while kingdoms no longer guard the roads. Merchants pay any blade to clear them, and the fallen are dragged back by carters for a fee. The game has been compared to roguelites like Windblown or Hades.
NeoEngine Plugins Enhance NOSTRA Rendering and Systems
NOSTRA runs on RPG Maker MZ, but very little of it remains stock. Around 140 plugins written in-house, collected under the name NeoEngine, handle rendering, combat, tools, and systems. With DEV 0.30, every frame passes through a new render pipeline with high dynamic range, bloom, color grading in seven layers, and depth of field. Shadows come from a height map, water reflects the sky, and rain falls in three depth layers. Combat features stages with their own light and weather, and a reworked parry system. New systems include homestead building, the conquest mode Conquer, a card game called Brask, and rifts.

Release Timeline and Platform
Crystalbound is planned for PC via Steam in the first quarter of 2027. NOSTRA is expected to be feature-ready by the end of 2026 and release in November 2027.
