“Follow You Follow Me” von Florida Project feat. Leroy Daniels & DJ Tom.

Thomas Averkamp aka DJ Tom, resident DJ in the PM & PRISMA discotheques for decades, had the idea for this cover version back in 2006. Now, a good 16 years later, it’s finally becoming reality.
DJ Tom was already very active in production in 1995-1996 and can refer to music productions at EMI Electrola, ZYX and Polydor. Now, in the forced break as a DJ caused by Corona, the time had come to produce something new in music again.

Together with music producer and ECHO award winner Tony Catania (Scatman, Tom Civic, etc.) the song was worked on for months.

In Leroy Daniels they found a professional entertainer and singer who has been in the music business for over 25 years and who already had considerable chart success in the mid-90s with Leroy and Eddy’s ‘Carless Whisper’. Leroy has already made several TV appearances . Further projects with the Rap Allstars, Vinylshakerz, Rico Bernasconi and Alex Christensen followed. Leroy has been active in the cover band 12inch for years.

With the approval for the cover version, a dream comes true. As the first artist ever, a GENESIS title was approved. The legendary Phil Collins himself is said to have given his blessing for this. The 1978 GENESIS hit has been completely re-arranged and wrapped in a dynamic, groovy 124 BPM guise. Especially the Extended Mix produced by Tony Catania is awesome. As luck would have it, GENESIS are currently on a big European tour and can also be seen live in Germany in March. The publication now fits all the better 🙂

At the same time, there is also a video worth seeing on YouTube.
