(Agence Ecofin) – In Morocco, Mutandis is one of the main players in the production of household consumer goods. For several years, the group has been engaged in a strategy of diversifying its activities.
In Morocco, the Mutandis industrial group commissioned a soft drinks and fruit juice production plant on March 19 in Berrechid in the Casablanca-Settat region. This unit is equipped to produce 120,000 tonnes of drinks per year for the local market.
It is part of an agro-industrial complex extending over 4 hectares and with a total cost of 285 million dirhams ($28.3 million) inaugurated by Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Commerce.
According to details relayed by Medias24this complex also includes a factory with an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes of liquid detergent as well as a manufacturing unit for cosmetic products such as shampoos, shower gels and body creams with an estimated capacity of 4,000 tonnes /year.
According to Adil Douiri, CEO of the group, the new complex should ultimately create around 300 direct jobs. The company, listed on the Casablanca stock exchange, also operates in the processing of fish products (sardines, mackerel) and the manufacturing of food bottles. In 2023, Mutandis recorded a 13% growth in net profit to 113 million dirhams ($11.2 million).
