The Austrian groove metal band MY DARK FATE are releasing their second single “Shining” these days. According to the band, more songs and an album will follow soon!
MY DARK FATE is an Austrian groove metal band, founded in 2019 in Tyrol. The two founders, Andreas Maierhofer (guitar) and Herbert Sopracolle (guitar), also known from their band LOST DREAMS, are now continuing their many years of melodic death metal experience in MY DARK FATE. A strong combination of hard rhythms, catchy melodies and a unique female voice transforms the sound of MY DARK FATE into a modern symbiosis. Singer Brigitte Lechner alternates between feminine tones and death growls and writes the lyrics. Dominik Lechner, also bass player of LIQUID STEEL and Christian Federer (drums) build up a solid groove section.
The first single “Listen to your Heart” has been online for some time. When you turn on the radio, ROXETTE’s “Listen to your Heart” has been one of the most popular songs for over 30 years. I guess each of us has a little memory that makes you smile when you hear the song. In 2019, the death of Marie Fredriksson demonstrated the importance of ROXETTE as part of European pop culture. MY DARK FATE covered the song for a live show in 2020 – it sounded pretty cool and powerful. So the band decided to record the song as a darker cover version of the ROXETTE original.
