Myriam Lechien, a Baroness and successful entrepreneur, who was married to Baron Guy Ullens, was tragically murdered by her son-in-law outside her Lasne residence.

A woman in her seventies was fatally shot in front of her home in the village of Ohain, located in the Lasne entity. The Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office confirmed that a man born in 1965, who is the victim’s son-in-law, fired a gun on Wednesday morning at around 10 a.m. near the property where his father and stepmother reside. The victim was identified as Baroness Myriam Lechien, the second wife of Baron Guy Ullens de Schooten Whettnall. Her alleged killer has been apprehended and will be questioned by authorities on Wednesday afternoon. The federal judicial police of Walloon Brabant are handling the investigation. The reason behind the shooting remains unknown. The laboratory of the federal judicial police, a medical examiner, a magistrate, and a ballistics expert were all present at the scene. A septuagenarian living in the village of Ohain, in the Lasne entity, was shot dead on Wednesday morning in front of her home, the Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office confirmed to us. A man born in 1965 fired a gun on Wednesday morning around 10 a.m. in front of the property where his father and stepmother live. This is Nicolas Ullens, the victim’s son-in-law.

For an as yet undetermined reason, the 50-year-old shot the woman born in 1952. When help arrived, the victim was already dead.

The victim is no stranger. It is, according to our exclusive information, Baroness Myriam Lechien, second wife of Baron Guy Ullens de Schooten Whettnall, himself the son of Baron Jean Ullens de Schooten Whettnall, diplomat, and Marie-Thérèse Wittouck.

The laboratory of the federal judicial police, a medical examiner, a magistrate and a ballistics expert descended on the scene.

The alleged killer was deprived of his liberty and must be heard during the afternoon of Wednesday. An investigating judge has been seized of the case.

The investigation was entrusted to the federal judicial police of Walloon Brabant.
